Trades Assistant

As a fundamental player in the Defence industry, UGL plays a vital role in supporting the Defence Fuel Network across 100 Australian Defence bases nationwide. From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team\'s expertise ensures we deliver effectively and sustainably. We are expanding the scope of works within UGL\'s portfolio and are recruiting a Trades Assistant / Work Execution Officer to join our Operations & Maintenance team at Pearce RAAF Base in Bullsbrook, Perth WA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment to support national security and to be part of a Tier 1 services provider on a long-term contract.

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at Pearce RAAF Base (Bullsbrook, Perth WA), supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel. You will be part of a core crew of UGL technicians. These duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Scoping mechanical and electrical work activities
• Procurement of materials and creation of work packs
• Management of maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management System
• Coordination of contractors including obtaining quotes and documentation
• Assisting maintenance technicians in field works
• Support various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout WA
• General administration & ad hoc duties as required

You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee that will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer. We expect the successful applicants to have the following:

• Previous labouring or trade (mechanical) experience
• Experience with SAP based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
• Experience preparing permit to work documentation and risk assessments
• Safety is at the forefront of everything you do
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
• Savvy IT / computer literacy & skills
