Residential Support Worker

Role Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide quality support and services to young people with mental health issues who live in our residential service.
You will work collaboratively with young people in their recovery, providing support that is client-focused, community-oriented, and sensitive. You will assist young people with mental health issues to develop and maintain relationships, which facilitate independence, and improve their daily living skills through guidance, supervision, and encouragement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality support and services to young people with mental health issues
- Work collaboratively with young people in their recovery
- Assist young people with mental health issues to develop and maintain relationships
- Assist young people with mental health issues to improve their daily living skills
- Mentor and act as role models for young people in building positive social skills
- Encourage and educate young people on healthy living habits
- Encourage the growth of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence in young people
Requirements
- Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services or other related discipline
- Experience in working with young people experiencing mental health issues
- Demonstrated capacity to relate to young people, their families/carers, and other stakeholders with dignity and respect
- Ability to assess risk and follow relevant protocols to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively
- Demonstrated and effective listening and communication skills
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles of duty of care, and rights to privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to help program participants link in with other relevant community resources
- Must be available for overnight shifts
- Must be available to work a rotating 24/7 roster
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
- Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
- Current Driver's license
