Expert VFX Simulations Specialist Role

We are seeking an accomplished Expert VFX Simulations Specialist to lead our high-end feature film VFX productions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting intricate simulations for particle, pyro, rigid body, fluid, cloth, fur and hair effects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in high-end feature film VFX production with expertise in physical simulation techniques
  • Proven track record of producing photorealistic effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam and explosions using advanced software tools
  • An eye for detail, good sense of timing, and comprehensive understanding of computer graphics technologies
  • Experience in live action FX work with the ability to apply learned skills to various VFX scenarios
  • Detailed knowledge of Houdini software with proficiency in creating complex simulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in addressing pipeline issues
  • Familiarity with node-based compositing applications (Nuke preferred) and a solid grasp of the compositing process

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in other areas of visual effects (TV, Games) will be considered a valuable asset
  • A broad skill set as a generalist TD with additional programming knowledge (Maya, Python, Hscript or Mel)
  • Deep understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems with experience in troubleshooting technical issues
