About the Job

As a Navy Gap Year Mechanical Engineer, you'll be immersed in the world of Navy innovation and engineering, working with various systems such as diesel engines, gas turbines, ventilation, power generation, or hydraulics. You'll learn from seasoned engineers who have overcome challenges at sea and ashore, gaining invaluable knowledge and leadership skills.

Your Training and Experience

Throughout your 15-week course at the Royal Australian Naval College (RANC) in Jervis Bay, NSW, you'll receive comprehensive training alongside other new Navy officers. This will include basic training and shore establishment tours, allowing you to experience life at sea and on land. You'll contribute to the operation of the ship or unit, gaining transferable skills for management and leadership positions.

Benefits and Career Growth

At the end of the program, you can choose to continue your career in the Navy or apply the skills and experiences gained to alternative career paths. Salary and Benefits
