About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Financial Controller and Operations Lead to join our team at Flybuys. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our accounting and procurement functions, ensuring effective controls and accurate reporting to support commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Control and Operations
    • Lead the accounting and procurement teams to deliver a world-class finance function
    • Develop and enhance the financial control environment and corporate governance framework
    • Manage a small team of qualified accountants to deliver financial reporting and analysis
    • Oversight of all core accounting areas, including month-end close, half-year and year-end close, and cash-flow management
    • Process improvements to automate non-value add processes where possible
    • Financial reporting, including all associated ASX reporting
    • Maintenance of GL master data and finance systems
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide clear direction to the team, setting high standards, motivating, coaching, and empowering the team to deliver
    • Develop and implement new processes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness
    • Ensure compliance with statutory law, taxation, and financial regulations
  • Commercial Acumen
    • Strong commercial focus, with experience in driving business performance and growth
    • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide insights to inform business decisions
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in a senior finance leadership role
  • CA/CPA qualified, with a background in a Big 4 or Top-tier audit firm
  • Proven track record in technical leadership and financial control
  • Strong capability in creating and implementing new processes
  • Ability to adapt to business changes in a growing company
  • Maintain and enhance control environment across finance processes and procedures
  • A senior leader, capable of providing clear direction to the team, setting high standards, motivating, coaching, and empowering the team to deliver
  • A strong influencer, with the ability to gain alignment and commitment to delivery of outcomes
