Family Support Specialist

This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families by supporting them through comprehensive assessments, case management, and community engagement.
About the Role:
- Conduct thorough assessments of kinship care placements to ensure they meet the needs of the child and family.
- Develop recommendations for Child Protection that prioritize the best interests of the child.
- Foster strong relationships with kinship carers, providing guidance and support to help them build their capacity to respond to the child's safety, stability, and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to identify and address any barriers to the child's well-being.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare work, or a related field.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families with complex needs.
- Knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Best Interests Framework.
- Strong risk assessment and communication skills.
