Looking to take your automotive expertise to the next level? RAC WA is seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team in Southern Perth.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves operating on a flexible rotating shift roster between 6:00am and 11:30pm from Monday to Sunday. The main duties include:

  • Responding to roadside assistance events, providing on-the-spot mechanical repairs and assistance to RAC members.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting a wide range of vehicle breakdowns and mechanical issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Utilizing technical expertise to perform minor repairs and adjustments, including battery replacements, tyre changes, and jump-starts.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring members' safety and satisfaction during stressful situations.
  • Coordinating and liaising with additional resources when required, such as towing services or other specialized assistance.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date records of services provided, adhering to RAC's procedures and guidelines.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A strong background in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle makes and models.
  • A relevant trade qualification in automotive mechanics or a similar field.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with members and colleagues.
  • A valid Motor Vehicle Repairers Licence for Light vehicle repairs.
  • A customer-centric mindset and a passion for assisting others during challenging situations.
