At Amazon, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Business Manager to join our team in Australia. This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the growth of one of our key categories and drive business results.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in account management, project or program management, or buying, with a strong background in using data to influence business decisions. They will also have experience driving internal cross-team collaboration and managing P&Ls.

As a Category Business Manager, you will be responsible for conducting financial analysis of business opportunities, acting as the 'new business developer' for assigned categories or brands, and maximizing Amazon's business and financial profitability through selection expansion opportunities.

You will also build vendor/brand relationships, coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders while meeting tight deadlines.

Average salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets
  • Act as the 'new business developer' for an assigned set of categories or brands within, possessing a complete understanding (inclusive of the strategic context) of internal and external variables that impact your business
  • Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
  • Maximize Amazon's business and financial profitability through selection expansion opportunities
  • Build vendor/brand relationships - be the primary point of contact for vendor on-boarding and then ensure smooth transition to the category teams once on-boarded
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting tight deadlines

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with Excel
  • 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
