Financial Accountant

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our APAC team as an Assistant Financial Accountant. This is a permanent opportunity based in Melbourne, Australia, and is responsible for a variety of accounting and accounts payable tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile ledgers and draft month-end reports to ensure accurate financial data.
- Assist with timesheet reporting and related monthly processes to maintain compliance and efficiency.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to verify transactions and account balances.
- Review reports and investigate anomalies to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare data for the parent system to ensure seamless integration and reporting.
- Handle tax lodgments (BAS, PAYG, FBT) and payments to meet regulatory requirements.
- Assist with year-end audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Support NZ and SIN accounts personnel to maintain a cohesive and efficient team.
- Process and post invoices, manage creditor enquiries, and ensure timely payments to maintain a positive cash flow.
- Handle expense claims, credit card reconciliations, and weekly cash forecasts to ensure accurate financial management.
- Support Project Managers with purchase orders and supplier setups to streamline operations.
- Manage depreciation, asset additions/disposals, and reconcile ledger to register to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain mobile phone fleet and telecommunication services to ensure efficient communication.
- Provide general office administration and backup support as needed to ensure a smooth operation.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Accounting with at least 3 years' experience in an accounting/accounts payable role;
- Qualified or part qualified CA/CPA;
- Exposure to a project-based professional environment highly regarded;
- Exposure to Navision (Microsoft Dynamics 365) or similar ERP highly regarded;
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and Outlook);
- Strong and relevant administrative skills.
