Job Opportunity: People and Culture Business Partner

The City of Sydney is seeking an experienced People and Culture Business Partner to join our team.

This role plays a key part in driving strategic initiatives, compliance, performance, and employee engagement across the organization. You will act as a subject matter expert for your business units, providing advice and guidance on people practices, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct case management across the wider People and Culture Business Partner team while managing a smaller client portfolio with full partnering scope.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for your business units to provide advice and guidance and work on strategic initiatives with other teams within the division.
  • Manage employee and industrial relations matters within business units to drive outcomes and mitigate risk.
  • Contribute to change management initiatives and apply knowledge and expertise to create and implement cultural initiatives that help embed our values in everything we do.
We're Looking For Someone With:
  • Demonstrated capability in conducting, coordinating, and reporting on complex case management matters, ideally using digital case-tracking systems and analytics.
  • Proven experience conducting workplace mediation and facilitation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources management or equivalent and/or experience in a similar role.
  • Experience providing HR generalist advice in large or complex organizations.
  • A consultative approach in delivering HR services to managers and employees.
About The Role:

This unique and exciting role offers hands-on involvement in shaping forward-looking People and Culture projects. It also provides a heightened focus on conducting and coordinating case management across the People and Culture Business Partner team, while managing a smaller client portfolio with full partnering scope.
