Compliance and Governance Expert

As a Compliance and Governance Expert, you will provide comprehensive legal advice and support the implementation of regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Provide expert legal guidance on complex matters, including obligations under laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents.
  • Advise on governance frameworks, risk policies, and procedures to align with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage external engagements for cost-effective and high-quality support.
  • Promote a strong risk culture, focusing on legal and reputational risk management.

About You:

We are looking for an exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. You should have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and current unrestricted practising certificate as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
  • Extensive post-admission experience working in financial services.
  • Knowledge of legislation related to financial services, particularly life insurance.
  • Ability to lead negotiations on complex matters and work collaboratively across all levels.
  • Experience advising business teams on time-sensitive projects.
