Job Description

The role of Assets Contract Manager is crucial in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of facilities. This position involves developing and overseeing preventative maintenance plans, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.

Key responsibilities include contract formation and management, risk mitigation, performance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will also support the transition of new assets into operations, ensuring that contract KPIs align with performance standards.

As a trusted advisor, you will influence and negotiate effectively with stakeholders to optimize contract outcomes. You will work closely with project managers, finance teams, and legal advisors to implement best practices in contract administration.

Additionally, you will lead and develop a team of contract administrators, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth. You will provide expert advice and support on contract-related matters, ensuring clear communication of rights, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

Furthermore, you will implement a framework for planned preventative maintenance programs for all major equipment into new and existing contracts. You will provide timely and accurate management reports to ensure that executive managers are fully informed of all relevant information regarding assets and operations.

  1. Tertiary Qualifications

Relevant area such as building, engineering, asset management, facilities maintenance, construction, or finance, or demonstrated equivalent experience in procurement and contract governance within a facilities context.

Extensive Knowledge and Expertise

Contract management, facilities maintenance, asset management, building principles & standards, environmental and heritage issues, technical aspects of plant and building services maintenance, effective preventative maintenance systems, and expertise in contract law, risk management, and compliance requirements.

Advanced Capabilities

Enabling business areas of contract governance, management, procurement, and project management.

Demonstrated Experience

Stakeholder engagement and management across geographically dispersed sites in pursuit of common outcomes/standards in documentation suites and contracts, contract management, procurement, or contract administration within a complex organization, and managing and resolving disputes under the contract process.

Proven Leadership and People Management Skills

Ability to develop and mentor teams, proven track record of leadership and people management skills.

Excellent Written Communication Skills

Experience in drafting high-quality contract correspondence in government client or contractor environments.

High-Level Analytical, Problem-Solving, and Decision-Making Skills

Ability to analyze complex situations, identify solutions, and make informed decisions.

Excellent Negotiation, Communication, and Stakeholder Management Abilities

Ability to negotiate effectively, communicate clearly, and manage stakeholders effectively.
