Occupational Health and Safety Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Health and Safety Officer to support the implementation and ongoing improvement of workplace health and safety systems across our organisation.

  • This role will involve supporting and maintaining our WHS Management System.
  • Promoting safety awareness and effective communication across departments.
  • Conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, inspections, and audits.
  • Coordinating and supporting emergency preparedness activities, including drills and equipment checks.
  • Facilitating OHS inductions, training sessions, toolbox talks, and committee meetings.
  • Assisting with incident reporting, investigations, and tracking of corrective actions.
  • Maintaining accurate compliance records, registers, and reports.

About the Role

This is an Identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander role. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander under Section 23 (1) (b) of the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act 2003.

Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity with a strong connection to community.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (Diploma preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in an OHS support role.
  • Knowledge of OHS legislation, compliance, and best practice.
  • Experience with risk management, incident reporting, and safety systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and record-keeping systems.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach.
