Oral Health Therapist Role

We are seeking an exceptional Oral Health Therapist to join our dental team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing essential dental care with a focus on preventive and therapeutic services.

You will work closely with a diverse group of patients, promoting oral health and providing treatment for a wide range of dental conditions. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build rapport with patients and healthcare professionals alike.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough dental examinations and assess oral health conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and requirements.
  • Perform clinical dental hygiene procedures such as scaling, root planning, and applying topical fluorides and sealants.
  • Provide restorative dental treatments under the prescription of a dentist, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Take and interpret dental radiographs, using advanced technology to aid diagnosis and treatment.
  • Utilize 3D scans of patients' teeth to create detailed treatment plans, which you will present to our dental professionals for review.
  • Conduct patient consultations, explaining the treatment process, costs, timelines, and expected outcomes in a clear and concise manner.
  • Educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, providing personalized advice and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting treatments and care provided.
  • Work collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive dental care, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Assist patients with payment and financial arrangements for their treatment, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and responding to phone inquiries, demonstrating your organizational and time-management skills.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Oral Health or equivalent, recognized by the Australian Dental Council.
  • Registration with the Dental Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proficiency in using modern dental software and radiographic equipment, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development, ensuring you stay current with best practices and industry advancements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organized in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Experience in adult scope is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
