Government Relations Role Overview

The University of Adelaide is seeking a skilled Government Relations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Media and Corporate Relations branch, you will play a crucial role in positioning the University as a respected thought leader in South Australia.

Reporting to the Head of Government Relations and Protocol, you will be responsible for operationalising, maintaining and realising the benefits of effective university-wide partnerships with government stakeholders. This will involve providing advice and assistance to various areas across the University to strengthen relationships, enhance our reputation and avoid duplication of activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and managing stakeholder relationships, particularly with government stakeholders.
  • Leading a portfolio of government initiatives and events to enhance institutional reputations.
  • Providing high-level policy analysis and evaluation, as well as preparing submissions, briefs and position papers.
  • Identifying, understanding and disseminating strategic opportunities, business needs and political context.
