Job Summary

The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled Government Relations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our External Engagement division, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with government stakeholders, identifying strategic opportunities, and providing advice and assistance to various university departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective government relations strategies to enhance the University's reputation and advance its interests.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, including ministers, MPs, and public servants.
  • Provide advice and assistance to university departments on government relations matters, including policy analysis and submission preparation.
  • Identify and pursue strategic opportunities for the University, including partnerships, collaborations, and funding opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with government policies, priorities, and initiatives, and provide expert advice to the University on these matters.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in government relations, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of government policies, priorities, and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with government stakeholders and university departments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide expert advice on complex government relations matters.
