Job Summary

The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled Government Relations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our External Engagement Division, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders, identifying strategic opportunities, and providing expert advice to support the University's growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective government relations strategies to enhance the University's reputation and influence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, including ministers, MPs, and public servants.
  • Provide expert advice on policy and advocacy matters, including the development of submissions, briefs, and position papers.
  • Identify and pursue strategic opportunities to advance the University's interests and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the University to achieve shared objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in government relations, policy, and advocacy.
  • Strong understanding of the political and government environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
