Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, with experience in high-volume payroll environments.

About the Role

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract role that will see you process fortnightly payroll through Preceda, assist in the formulation and maintenance of payroll strategies, systems and processes, and investigate and resolve pay discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process fortnightly payroll through Preceda
  • Assist in the formulation, implementation and maintenance of payroll strategies, systems and processes
  • Investigate and resolve pay discrepancies, maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • Provide timely advice to staff and management on performance/payroll related matters
  • Assist in creating related material for induction and development programs in stores and support groups
  • Generate periodic reporting to meet business requirements – fortnightly, monthly and annually
  • Analyse data, reconcile and perform system health checks
  • Maintain databases, including regular data integrity checking
  • Liaise with third parties regarding team member details on an ad hoc basis

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role for a medium to large organisation
  • Prior experience with end-of-month reconciliations and high-volume payroll processing (800-1000 employees)
  • Experience with Kronos, Preceda or E-tivity is desirable
  • Experience in New Zealand payroll processing is highly regarded
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Word, Excel and data entry
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Proven ability to initiate change and improvement to processes and systems
  • Strong skills in documentation of processes
  • Ability to work in a large team environment and strive to achieve desired results and deadlines

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum
