Job Description

As a senior application support technical specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continued operation of core banking and key IT applications. You will provide timely support to the daily operation of business-critical applications, working closely with the business, IT leadership, and service provider teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, support, and triage IT application-related incidents, service requests, and problems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Employ appropriate application maintenance, supports, and incident management processes to investigate and resolve IT application-related incidents
  • Provide timely communication to users on the status of their service requests and incidents
  • Liaise with IT suppliers to ensure IT application-related incidents and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner
  • Undertake IT application-related problem diagnosis and implement problem resolution or prevention measures as appropriate
  • Monitor the availability, performance, and throughput of supported IT applications
  • Prioritize and schedule assigned support activities and tasks
  • Maintain IT application support technical documentation
  • Participate in disaster recovery activities as required
Required Skills and Qualifications

You will need tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Additionally, you should have 4+ years of relevant IT industry experience, including 2+ years' experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment. Knowledge and experience in supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11, including client-server applications, web applications, third-party applications, middleware, and Microsoft 365 suite is highly regarded.

ITIL v4 certification is essential, along with familiarity with industry standards for service management, including incident management and change management. MCSE: Server Infrastructure or equivalent Windows Server 2008 or later certification is highly regarded, as well as scripting technology such as VBScript, PowerShell, and Python. SQL databases knowledge and experience is also highly regarded.
