Job Description: Maintenance Leadership Opportunity

The role is responsible for overseeing a team of skilled tradespeople and contractors at our Geelong site. The key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing effective maintenance strategies: establishing schedules, monitoring completion, and ensuring quality.
  • Maintenance management: managing open work orders, prioritizing jobs based on business requirements and budget.
  • Breakdown response: responding to critical breakdowns, allocating resources, managing records, and fatigue during repairs.
  • Operational efficiency: ensuring that maintenance spend aligns with business objectives, supporting labor spend, escalating high-cost repairs.
  • Culture development: fostering a culture of continuous improvement among maintenance employees.

Requirements:

  • A trade certificate in a relevant discipline (electrical, fitting/machining, boiler-making) is necessary.
  • Experience as a people leader in a commercial/industrial setting is required.
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities using systems like SAP or MEX is beneficial.
  • The ability to supervise under an enterprise agreement and interpret same is essential.
  • A strong continuous improvement mindset and safety leadership behaviors are expected.
