About the Role:

The Commonwealth Bank is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Chapter Lead to join our Home Buying Domain in Retail Banking Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and supporting a high-performing team of risk and control professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice on risk mitigation investments, interventions, and improvements that align with business and governance initiatives.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies aligned with business objectives and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with peers in the Lending Products Centre of Excellence to drive excellence in risk management.
  • Lead and manage a team of risk and control professionals to ensure effective risk management practices.
  • Identify and manage risks effectively, providing valuable insights and prioritizing improvements to ensure operational risk requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail lending and operational risk management, with a focus on product design, delivery, and oversight.
  • Experience in process improvement and project management with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop a high-performing team of risk and control professionals.
  • Ability to simplify complex processes and controls and identify balanced solutions for diverse stakeholders.
  • Expert knowledge of Operational Risk frameworks and practices in a Line 1 role.
