Investment Risk Role

The Senior Investment Risk Analyst plays a critical role within the team at Perpetual Limited. This position is responsible for providing key support to Investment Risk functions across both Perpetual and Pendal boutiques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering recurring tasks and risk reports with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring timely decision-making.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of Investment Risk monitoring, governance, reporting, data integrity, and over-the-counter instrument capture, driving best-practice approaches in investment risk analytics and reporting.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of risk-related documentation, such as policies, standards, frameworks, and procedures.
  • Improving existing risk processes, controls, and engineering future-fit solutions, leveraging expertise to deliver results-driven improvements.
  • Working with stakeholders and service providers to deliver key uplift objectives, fostering collaboration and driving successful outcomes.

About You / Qualifications

  • A Degree in Business, Commerce, Mathematics, or related field, along with postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) highly regarded.
  • 5+ years in financial services, including 2+ years in Investment Risk, demonstrating depth and breadth of experience.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Investment Risk regulations; offshore exposure a plus, indicating global perspective and adaptability.
  • Experience across at least one of these asset classes: Fixed Income, Equities, Multi Asset, showcasing relevant skills and expertise.
  • Familiarity with derivatives, along with experience with third-party risk models and explaining risk drivers to stakeholders, underlining strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills essential; VBA, PowerBI, and FactSet desirable, highlighting technical proficiency.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder engagement and time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Lists, demonstrating efficiency and productivity in day-to-day operations.
