Portfolio Risk Manager Role

This critical position plays a pivotal part in the Portfolio Design team, focusing on developing and maintaining high-quality risk models and analytics to monitor, stress, and inform investment risk taking.

The ideal candidate will support the development of ex-ante risk models for a multi-asset fund, conduct portfolio risk mapping, stress testing, and scenario testing, and contribute to risk playbooks. They will also maintain a long-term risk budgeting model, assist with customised risk dashboards, and research volatility, correlations, and return distributions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain ex-ante risk models for a multi-asset fund, ensuring accurate predictions and informed decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough portfolio risk mapping, stress testing, and scenario testing to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain a robust long-term risk budgeting model and assist with customised risk dashboards to provide actionable insights.
  • Research and analyse volatility, correlations, and return distributions to inform investment strategies.
  • Assist with capital market assumptions, portfolio stress testing, scenario modelling, and liquidity/cash flow modelling.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience in investment risk management with a strong understanding of portfolio positioning.
  • Sound knowledge of asset classes and economic data influencing financial markets.
  • Technical skills: Python, Matlab, R, Excel, Visual Basic (or equivalent).
