Senior Policy Strategist

This is a key leadership position in the newly established Insurance Monitor function, responsible for shaping regulatory settings through strategic policy advice and technical analysis.

The successful candidate will lead projects that deliver evidence-based policy frameworks, provide expert advice to senior leadership and the Tribunal, and contribute to the development of a robust regulatory environment that supports fair outcomes for NSW insurance customers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading complex policy projects and delivering high-quality strategic advice.
  • Strong economic and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret market dynamics and legislative frameworks, and translate that understanding into high-level policy objectives and actionable plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and public discussion papers.
  • Experience working within government or regulatory environments, particularly in financial services or heavily regulated industries.

  • A strong background in policy development, economic analysis, and regulatory frameworks.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and lead teams in a dynamic, evolving policy landscape.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
