Senior Legal Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice to the Chief Investigator.
- Support agency functions with timely and accurate legal guidance.
- Navigate multiple tasks as a trusted advisor to ensure adherence to best practice in high-pressure situations.
- Corporate governance and compliance expertise.
- Contract and statutory interpretation skills.
- Ability to draft complex legal documents.
- Dispute resolution experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory obligations and legal risk mitigation strategies.
As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will drive awareness of regulatory obligations and legal risk mitigation across the agency. You will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice, developed through experience in a regulatory or government environment, on a range of areas including corporate governance, contracts, and statutory interpretation.
You will contribute to capability development across the agency by driving awareness of regulatory obligations and legal risk mitigation. You will work independently, communicate effectively, and quickly absorb information to provide definitive advice.
Our ideal candidate is a proactive legal professional who can navigate multiple tasks as a trusted advisor to ensure adherence to best practice in high-pressure situations. You will have the ability to provide high-quality legal advice, developed through experience in a regulatory or government environment, on a range of areas including corporate governance, contracts, and statutory interpretation.
