Guidance Counsellor Role

We are seeking a Guidance Counsellor to provide support and guidance to students in three school communities.

  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents and other support staff to implement student-centred approaches and promote positive relationships within the school community.
  • This role involves providing individualised support and guidance to students to help them reach their academic, personal and social potential.

As a Guidance Counsellor, you will have a hybrid working arrangement based at either Oakey, Tara or Chinchilla, including travel between sites.

About This Opportunity
  • Required skills and qualifications include a relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or Guidance Counselling coupled with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Effective relationship building and influencing skills, advanced interpersonal and communication skills, proven and effective leadership skills are also essential.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of curriculum requirements and assessment strategies.
  • Provide support and guidance to students to help them reach their academic, personal and social potential.
