Job Title: Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapy Professional

Description:

This is a senior-level position within paediatric occupational therapy services. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, expertise and governance within the team, including the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high-quality person-centered care.

  • The role will support the implementation of health and development screening initiatives and provide assessment, early intervention, capacity building and direct care pathways for children in South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).
  • The senior occupational therapist will participate in the evaluation of these initiatives and assist in the development and provision of education and training programs.
  • The role also involves supervision to level 1/2 occupational therapists, allied health assistance and students as guided by the Head of Department and Project Lead.

What You'll Do:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, delivering a family-centred service in consultation with clients and carers/families. As a senior occupational therapist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, expertise and governance within the team, including:

  • Supporting the implementation of health and development screening initiatives;
  • Providing assessment, early intervention, capacity building and direct care pathways for children in SWSLHD;
  • Participating in the evaluation of these initiatives and assisting in the development and provision of education and training programs;
  • Supervising level 1/2 occupational therapists, allied health assistance and students.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • A recognised degree in occupational therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer;
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within paediatric populations;
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence-based practice and/or development of treatment protocols;
  • Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process;
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs;
  • An Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
