Senior Logistics Manager - WA

This is a senior logistics management role within the Business Management function of Joint Logistics Unit (West). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team, managing workflow and resources, building team capacity through coaching and feedback, and reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Direct management and coordination across all administrative based functions including unit finance, Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S), security, facilities, unit resourcing and auditing;
  • Workforce recruitment support, personnel administration (ADF, ADF reserve contingent and APS);
  • Integral support to the Commanding Officer and broader executive.

**Requirements**

  • Experience working in a similar role ensuring the alignment of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks;
  • Experience in enterprise resource planning and core business processes in an integrated system;
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, especially in preparing responses to correspondence, briefs and reports for management;
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders to achieve desired results;
  • A strong commitment to the provision of innovative and workable solutions in the promotion of logistics best practice;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a bigger team.

**Working Environment**

  • Joint Logistics Unit (West) provides a range of logistics support to all Australian Defence Units located in Western Australia;
  • Onsite gymnasium, café precinct and free secure onsite parking;
  • Public transport to Stirling is not available, although Defence does provide a free morning and afternoon shuttle bus service to the Rockingham Township and public train and bus services.
