A key position in our Environment team seeks an accomplished Senior or Principal Terrestrial Ecologist with BAM accreditation to drive the Ecology practice across NSW. This role combines office and fieldwork, providing opportunities for the successful candidate to enhance their reputation as a leader in their industry.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on infrastructure and natural resource management projects for clients in the private and public sectors.
  • Lead environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, focusing on flora, fauna, biodiversity, and habitat.
  • Deliver high-quality environmental analysis, research, and field surveys.
  • Develop technical reports for clients and participate in proposal and tender production.
  • Drive project delivery efficiency and effectiveness within the Ecology business unit.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of initiatives within the business unit.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science and/or Ecology are essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate Ecology experience, preferably in consulting, construction, or regulatory environments.
  • Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accreditation is highly valued, with the ability to work towards it also desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in New South Wales flora, fauna, and ecological communities identification is crucial.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant NSW/ACT standards and legislation is necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication are required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment is essential.
