Policy and Executive Support Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team in the Department of Health, Tasmania.

Job Description

The Policy and Executive Support Specialist is an integral member of the Allied Health Strategy and Policy team. The role involves:

  1. Coordinating the preparation of high-quality briefings and reports for senior officials on allied health policy, workforce, legislative, regulatory, and clinical governance issues.
  2. Providing project support through administration, coordination, research, and report preparation for multiple projects.
  3. Offering executive support to the Chief Allied Health Officer and Deputy Chief Allied Health Advisor, including secretariat support for committees.

You will need to have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience in policy and executive support within demanding environments.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to provide secretarial and administrative support, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Critical thinking, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop well-supported recommendations.
