Job Summary

The Vessel Master plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient and economical operation of the vessel. This leadership position demands exceptional navigation skills, effective communication abilities and strong decision-making capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee the daily operations of the vessel, its crew and cargo. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the seaworthiness of the vessel and ensuring the safety of all personnel onboard.

To excel in this role, you will require excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of experienced professionals. A thorough understanding of maritime regulations and laws is essential, as well as a proven track record of operational responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the overall safety and security of the vessel, its crew and cargo.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the vessel, including navigation, maintenance and logistics.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
Requirements
  • Certification as per STCW II/2 and other relevant items of the Convention.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as nautical science or engineering.
  • Relevant certifications and licenses, such as Officer of the Watch (OOW) certification.
  • Experience with vessel operations, maintenance and repair.
