Finance Business Partner Job Opportunity

The Finance Business Partner plays a pivotal role in collaborating with business leaders to provide forward-thinking analysis, guidance, and commercial insights. This position focuses on projects that require skills such as project pricing, negotiation, live project reviews, variation management, and working capital performance to enhance operational efficiency.

This role offers flexibility in office location and a preference for being based in Newcastle, providing a variety of work involving the provision of commercially focused financial solutions and advice to the business.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction and financial strategies.
  • Conduct analytical reviews on project budgets.
  • Support and manage financial aspects of projects within the business.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly management reports.
  • Analyze actual versus budget expense accounts on the Profit and Loss statement.
  • Review tenders on project pricing, assessing profitability and risk.
  • Assist in addressing queries from various stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Pursuing or completed CPA/CA qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Three or more years' experience in a finance partnering or similar role.
  • Able to operate under ambiguity and develop new ideas and business solutions.
  • Able to influence, manage, and prioritize across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering commercial outcomes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as BST, financial transaction systems, and data analytics tools such as Planning Analytics (TM1), Power BI is highly desirable.
  • A high level of competency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience in a project environment is highly desirable.
