Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to fill a unique role that combines hands-on work with site coordination responsibilities.

This position offers a clear pathway into management for the right candidate, allowing them to develop their skills in both carpentry and project coordination.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the project team with site safety and ensuring all procedures are monitored according to the project safety management plan.
  • Delivering and monitoring works against the current construction program and ensuring all trades are coordinating with each other.
  • Participating in safety meetings, discussing occupational health and safety, environmental factors, and quality issues on a regular basis.
  • Providing support with planning and delivery of commercial carpentry works in line with project schedules.
  • Completing carpentry works as per scope and ensuring that works are constructed in accordance with engineering designs, contract specifications, and authority requirements.
  • Coordinating site logistics, materials, and resource allocation.
  • Reporting to senior management on a regular basis and advising of any current or potential issues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial carpentry.
  • A strong understanding of construction methods, safety standards, and building codes.
  • The ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • A White Card (Construction Induction).
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in commercial construction.
  • Experience in, and a clear understanding of site quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental requirements.
