About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to provide high-quality pharmacy services for acute inpatients of the Southern Fleurieu Health Service.
- Optimising Drug Therapy: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring patients receive safe and effective treatment through optimised drug therapy and medication management.
- Expert Advice: They will provide expert drug and therapeutic advice to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
- Clinical and Counselling Services: This role contributes to clinical and counselling services, and supports best practices in medication use.
The Senior Pharmacist will work closely with professional and non-professional staff to enhance patient care and improve overall health outcomes. Their key responsibilities include:
- Optimising Drug Therapy: Play a vital part in optimising drug therapy and medication management.
- Professional Judgment: Work independently, exercising professional judgement and applying clinical knowledge.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication & interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, public relations skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Technical Expertise: High level of attention to detail, accuracy, efficient organisation skills, excellence in medication management and patient counselling.
- Pharmacy Knowledge: A solid understanding of clinical pharmacy practice, patient counselling, and medicines information in line with relevant Pharmacy Acts and legislation.
