Job Overview

The Transport Systems and Optimisation Specialist role requires analysing the current state of transport, evaluating business needs, and documenting requirements for optimisation. This involves working with stakeholders to deliver a fit-for-purpose solution.

This position plays a crucial role in improving transportation efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilising professional business analysis techniques to gather, understand and define requirements, rationalise and document the result.
  • Analysing transportation needs, including volume, frequency, delivery locations and product profiles.
  • Supporting development of optimisation rules to reduce transportation costs, delivery times and improve efficiency.
  • Reporting on transportation activity and providing analysis and insights into cost drivers and optimisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. They will also have advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with business analytics tools such as Power BI.

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role with significant exposure to transport operations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with business analytics tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, supplemented by analytical and modelling skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, manage competing demands and present data clearly and accurately.
