This is an exciting opportunity to join our Planned Surgery and Endoscopy Access team as a part-time, fixed-term Endoscopy Nurse Specialist. The role focuses on optimizing patient preparation and streamlining surgical pathways to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of planned surgical procedures.

You will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey, from initial referral to surgery. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct comprehensive patient assessments, proactively identify, and mitigate potential delays, and ensure all patient care aligns with the Department of Health's Planned Surgery Access Policy.

  • Policy Compliance: Maintain adherence to the Planned Surgery Access Policy and Elective Surgery Information System (ESIS) to ensure high-quality patient care.">
  • Theatre Efficiency: Enhance theatre efficiency through effective list planning and coordination with healthcare teams.">
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships with other health services to provide optimal patient care.">
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide expert clinical knowledge and leadership within the unit to promote high-quality patient care.">

  • ">
  • AHPRA Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).">
  • Postgraduate Qualification: Relevant post-graduate qualification or extensive relevant clinical experience.">
  • Acute Nursing Skills: Demonstrated skills in acute nursing care, including conflict resolution and interpersonal communication.">
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.">
  • Perioperative Experience: Perioperative/Surgical nursing experience, preferably in an endoscopy setting.">
