We are seeking a seasoned systems administrator to join our team.

About the Role

This senior technical position requires a highly skilled individual who can coordinate and provide operational third-tier IT infrastructure maintenance and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the status of problems and service requests to ensure agreed service levels and client service standards are met.
  • Carry out change management activities associated with infrastructure provisioning, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Analyse, advise, recommend, and plan maintenance upgrades or enhancements requests for the Departmental IT infrastructure.
  • Conduct thorough research to resolve issues and ensure reliable and available services.
  • Provide expert-level support and maintenance of the Departmental IT infrastructure.
  • Understand clients' business drivers and contribute to client relationships by assisting in the performance analysis of clients' infrastructure environments and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain and develop procedures and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement of ITS operations.
  • Participate in the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of whole-of-government IT-related initiatives.
  • Deliver timely, client-focused network, problem, and service management for IT services and facilities.
  • Provide guidance and support to more junior engineers and support technicians in the effective use and support of technologies.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality IT solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
