Job Title

A senior systems administrator is required to join our team for a 12-month contract. In this role, you will work with a team of secure networks specialists, applying your expertise across both Windows and Linux environments. Your primary focus will be to design, develop, and implement technical cybersecurity controls to ensure our systems are resilient and secure.

Responsibilities :

  • Partner with solution architects, engineers, and other technical experts to design and implement cyber security solutions.
  • Work within a secure, defense-accredited environment to minimize vulnerabilities and maximize the resiliency of critical systems.
  • Implement and configure Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions.
  • Apply security hardening techniques to both applications and infrastructure.
  • Use scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) to automate system administration tasks and security controls.
  • Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities using tools like Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
  • Produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Undertake occasional ad-hoc tasks outside of core business hours (e.g., system upgrades).

Necessary Skills :

Deep experience with both Windows and Linux environments.Proficiency in using vulnerability scanning tools.Proficiency using scripting languages.Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) in a secure environment.Previous experience in a defense or government environment is highly desirable.Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus.A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.Currently or recently held NV1 or NV2 clearance is required.
