About the Role

The Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Director, International Aviation Policy and Regulation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and regulations that shape the future of international aviation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic policy advice on international aviation industry and economic issues
  • Undertake aviation economic and market analysis
  • Economic regulation of international aviation
  • International relations, including negotiating and administering bilateral aviation agreements with other countries
  • Policy advice and coordination of matters related to ICAO, including the environment, facilitation, and economic regulation
  • Oversight and coordination of the Indonesian and Papua New Guinea transport capacity and capability international programs
Requirements
  • Outcomes-driven and accountable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically and develop policy advice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in international relations, strategic policy, economics, or law
