About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team and contribute to the ongoing development, operation, and reporting processes of our data infrastructure.

As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and deploying an online data dashboard, delivering data visualization to stakeholders and knowledge users. You will also independently develop and lead academic analyses of our data, as well as contribute to the technical development of our surveillance infrastructure.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and management of the interactive data dashboard for Health Services and stakeholders.

  • Developing reports and dashboards based on available data from core systems and identifying opportunities for automation.

  • Contributing to the development of analytic outputs from our data infrastructure.

  • Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of our data pipeline.

  • Documenting code and contributing to data dictionaries, codebooks, and other administrative documentation.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

About You

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Information Management, or a relevant scientific discipline, with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics and visualization using Python, SQL, R, and Django.

  • Demonstrated experience and confidence in web development tools and frameworks, including (not limited to) Django, JavaScript, and Dockers.

  • Demonstrated high-level organizational ability and initiative, including evidence of being effective in work planning, research, and prioritizing to meet deadlines, often with competing demands in a complex team environment.

  • Demonstrated high-level communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia.
