About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Auto & General. As a key member of our Product division, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth through the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop AI Solutions: Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI solutions that drive business value and improve customer experiences.
  • Support AI Solution Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the complete lifecycle of AI solution development, from ideation to full-scale implementation.
  • Data Analysis and Engineering: Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy, and undertake data analysis and data engineering to extract valuable insights from vast data sources.
  • Technical Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coding Standards and Best Practices: Work to achieve and maintain high coding standards, collaborating with other scientists and engineers to produce robust and reproducible code.
  • Emerging Technologies and Best Practices: Stay at the forefront of the field by adopting emerging technologies and best practices that improve operational efficiency and scalability.
Requirements
  • Quantitative Background: Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • AI and Machine Learning Experience: 3+ years of experience implementing AI and machine learning techniques in a professional environment.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in general-purpose programming like Python or similar, with extensive experience in relevant AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
  • Data Manipulation and Analysis: Proficiency with data manipulation and analysis using SQL, shell scripting, and Unix/Linux command-line tools.
  • Web Application Frameworks: Familiarity with web application frameworks like Streamlit, Flask, Django or similar frameworks in other languages.
  • Communication Skills: Communication skills to effectively explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences and to create high-quality documentation.
