Aboriginal Health Worker Drug and Alcohol

This role is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team addressing the health needs of young people released from custody to the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating post release care of young people with mental health and/or problematic drug and alcohol issues by establishing strong partnerships with community mental health and/or drug and alcohol services, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS), General Practitioners (GP's), Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and youth services.
  • Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia.
  • Valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check

The position holder will work within Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) policies, procedures and guidelines as well as the relevant Corrective Services NSW legislation, regulations, and policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree or higher level relative to role (including Bachelor Health Science for Djirruwang Program graduates).
  • Current unrestricted NSW Drivers License and willingness to travel
