Speech Therapist Role
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine Speech Therapy services to clients under the direction of the Director of Speech Therapy.
- Function and participate in multidisciplinary and collaborative teams within the healthcare facility.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Clinical Expertise - Demonstrated base level knowledge, expertise, and skills in managing adult and paediatric speech therapy clients, across the continuum of care.
Communication - Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and a co-operative approach.
Operational Management - Ability to self-manage a caseload, including prioritising referrals and achieving non-clinical workload requirements, such as report writing and recording statistics, in a timely manner.
Leadership - Ability to provide guidance to support staff and clinical education to students.
Quality Improvement - Commitment to evidence-based practice and participation in quality improvement activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mandatory possession of a qualification as a Speech Therapist from a registered tertiary institution (or equivalent) and current membership or eligibility for membership with relevant professional bodies.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
