Event Coordinator Role

This position oversees the development and execution of diverse events aimed at fostering connections between government communications professionals and policy-related information.

  • Enhance the effectiveness of government communications by implementing innovative strategies and activities
  • Build expertise in event management and contribute to strengthening public sector capabilities

The team plays a crucial role in supporting all-of-government brand, engagement, and advertising initiatives, policies, programs, and services that align with government objectives and priorities.

This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy on projects such as content creation, event delivery, training sessions, collaboration with partners, and engagement with our community of communications professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and disseminate e-newsletters (electronic direct mail) to maintain member engagement and awareness
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to coordinate educational events, ensuring practitioners are informed about policy requirements and contributing to best practices
  • Promote events across internal and external channels
  • Manage incoming inquiries and work management systems
  • Evaluate and report on event outcomes and engagement activities to identify effectiveness and opportunities for improvement
Requirements
  • Marks or relevant tertiary qualifications and professional experience in communications, marketing, or engagement roles
  • Comfortable learning new digital platforms for everyday use
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid stakeholder engagement and collaborative skills
  • High-level project management, attention to detail, organization, and prioritization while meeting tight deadlines
