About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and caring professional to join our team as a Special Education Support Professional. In this challenging yet highly rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of autism and specialist education approaches while making a positive impact on the lives of students and their families.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Familiarize yourself with individualized plans for each student, working closely with teachers and other support staff to implement programs that meet their unique needs and goals.
  • Assist with classroom programs, including positive behavior support and community access initiatives.
  • Support students in integrating into less restrictive settings, promoting socialization and inclusion.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the welfare and safety of students at all times, both within and outside of the classroom setting.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder or other intellectual disabilities (desirable).
  • Knowledge of transitioning students into mainstream settings, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Certificate III in Education Support or relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable), with a current driver's license (dependent on school location/requirements).
