Lead Strategic Policy Expert

About the Role

The Lead Strategic Policy Expert will spearhead a talented team to represent and deliver impactful policy submissions advocating for high-level strategic change that promotes drug and alcohol services in government thinking.

This role is ideal for an experienced leader with a track record of innovation, delivery, and a deep understanding of the health sector.

  • Demonstrated Ability: Understand, develop, analyse, and evaluate AOD-related policy;
  • Strategic Representation: Represent the organisation as the face and voice to a wide audience;
  • Health Sector Expertise: Strong understanding and experience of the health services sector, ideally as a well-known and credible thought leader;
  • Engagement Skills: Sophisticated and strategic engagement skills to elevate the organisation's agenda in a crowded health advocacy ecosystem;
  • Government and Funding Knowledge: Understanding of Government, funding opportunities, and approaches to advocacy for impact;
  • Agility and Conceptual Skills: Agility, strong conceptual skills to identify emerging issues relevant to the organisation's members and the sector;
  • Leadership and Management: Contemporary leadership and organisation management skills to engage and inspire others.

This is a highly sought-after opportunity for a collaborative leader with sophisticated communication and influencing skills. You'll be comfortable leading strategically while being operationally hands-on, supporting and developing the team.
