Clinical Risk and Quality Officer

Job Description:

The organisation is seeking an experienced Clinical Risk and Quality Officer to support the Director of Clinical Practice, Evidence and Quality in responding to clinical and quality risks.

This role plays a vital part in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of learning, safety, and quality that enhances service delivery and outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Governance Operations: Assist the Director of Clinical Practice, Evidence and Quality (DCPEQ) in coordinating the Clinical Governance Committee, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ensuring the Clinical Governance Framework is consistently updated and aligned with best practices.
  • Critical Incident & Complaint Processes: Coordinate the administrative handling of critical incidents and complaints, ensuring timely documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Clinical Risk Management Activities: Administer the organisation's clinical risk management functions, including identifying risks, maintaining risk registers, scheduling reviews, and supporting the development and implementation of risk treatment plans.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with the DCPEQ to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Quality Audit Processes: Plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external quality audits, ensuring all stakeholders are prepared and documentation is complete.

This role requires a systems thinker who can work collaboratively with others to find solutions, possess advanced communication skills, and demonstrate a strong customer service philosophy.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), supporting Privacy and Data Protection Functions, facilitating Governance Committees, and providing corporate governance support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Graduate or postgraduate professional qualification in a relevant discipline; health, therapeutic or community services related qualifications highly desirable.
  2. A systems thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
  3. Advanced communication skills with the ability to enable effective and empathetic communication in complex circumstances.
  4. Previous employment in the community services sector and/or not-for-profit organisation and / or clinical experience which can be applied to the community services sector.
  5. Demonstrated ability in key stakeholder relationship management and project management.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and clear presentation of information.
