
Trainee - Clinical Specialist

As a Trainee in our Orthopaedic department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of inpatients. This role involves providing an on-call service for South East Regional Hospital and three surrounding hospitals.
You will work closely with a team of medical professionals, including resident medical officers and rotating medical students from the Australian National University Medical School.
The role encompasses a good mix of elective and emergency operating, with approximately 1200 operations performed annually. You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills, judgement, and expertise in a complex clinical environment.
We are looking for someone with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, who can communicate effectively with diverse audiences. You should also have the ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.
To succeed in this role, you should have at least three years' post-graduate experience in public hospital service and be committed to ongoing self-education and professional development.
Key Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Demonstrated ability to complete rotations as allocated and required
- Excellent clinical skills, judgement, and expertise
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing situations
- Commitment to ongoing self-education and professional development
Additional Requirements:
- Proof of vaccination against influenza and other specific diseases
