Security Compliance Officer

SOS Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Security Compliance Officer to join their team at the APS5 level.
**Job Summary:**
This role involves coordinating security compliance activities, and application of policies and procedures which protect the department from security risks and vulnerabilities.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and triage compliance assessments and enquiries that relate to workforce security arrangements and outcomes.
- Manage a section mailbox and coordinate advice determinations and escalations.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department's security policies and procedures, including reporting, records management (TRIM), and compliance activities.
- Contribute to the achievement of Section and Branch objectives.
- Support the Branch to deliver timely and consistent responses on policy compliance and security matters.
- Develop an understanding of legislation, policy, and regulations that support recommendations relating to security issues/policy.
**Requirements:**
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework.
- Experience with government records management and filing systems.
- Initiative and sound judgement in decision making while working with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal - with experience drafting correspondence, and compliance and assurance reports.
- Proven ability to build and manage enduring relationships with key stakeholders to achieve operational and policy outcomes.
- The ability to harness and analyse information from a variety of sources to support the dissemination of security advice and outcomes.
**Additional Information:**
This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidate holding a Negative Vetting 1 Australian Government security clearance and undergo other employment suitability checks.
The approximate annual salary for this role is $115,200 - $125,400, depending on experience, plus 11.5% superannuation.
