The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to research and interpret information, as well as proven capability to manage competing priorities effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Security Section, ensuring compliance with the department's obligations under the PSPF. They will also liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on protective security policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Security Section, ensuring compliance with the PSPF.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on protective security policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate the accurate collection and maintenance of Security holdings, including security databases and records management systems.
  • Conduct research and analysis activities, reporting on findings.
  • Identify issues and contribute to their resolution.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills, and attributes:

  • Strong research and interpretation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in executing protective security tasks, including analysis and assessment of sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with Australian Government protective security policies and principles.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, alongside proficiency in using technology and information management systems.
  • Ability to contribute constructively to team activities and foster productive working relationships.
